Lance Statement on President Obama's FY2015 Budget
Washington, DC– Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today made the following statement in response to President Obama’s FY2015 Budget:
"I am disappointed that President Obama has once again failed to put forth a serious budget blueprint that makes the tough choices necessary to get our fiscal house in order. Instead of building upon the bipartisan deficit reduction agreements recently enacted by Congress, the President has chosen to abandon fiscal restraint altogether. His budget increases spending, adds more complexity to the U.S. tax code and lacks any reforms to lower our deficits and protect and preserve Social Security and Medicare for our Nation’s senior citizens and future generations. The Obama Administration proposal spends too much, borrows too much and taxes too much to be considered a serious budget blueprint for the Nation.”
"In the coming weeks, congressional Republicans will produce a real and responsible budget that balances, promotes job creations, reforms our tax code, protects our critical safety net programs and places our Nation on a glide path toward fiscal responsibility.”
