Lance Statement on House-Passage of The Balanced Budget for a Stronger America

Washington D.C. — Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) released the following statement after House passage of H. Con. Res. 27, which would establish the budget for fiscal year 2016.

“Today’s House-passed budget blueprint puts our Nation on a path of fiscal responsibility by balancing our federal budget in ten years, lessening deficits, funding our national priorities and saving and securing Medicare and Social Security — all without accounting gimmicks or higher taxes.  Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen has called our national debt the single, biggest threat to our national security.  The Balanced Budget for a Stronger America addresses this threat by restraining, reducing and containing out-of-control federal spending, deficits and debt.”
