LANCE CONGRATULATES BEDWELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR BEING NAMED 2013 GREEN RIBBON SCHOOL
BERNARDSVILLE, NJ – Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) on Friday, May 10, 2013 visited Bedwell Elementary School in Bernardsville. During his visit to the school, the Seventh District lawmaker praised the students and teachers for being named a 2013 Green Ribbon school by the U.S. Department of Education for the students’ environmental efforts. Specifically, the school has made significant energy conservation through solar panels installed on the school roof.
According to the Department of Education, the Green Ribbon honors schools and students for their efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, promote better health, and ensure effective environmental education, including civics and green career pathways.
“I am proud to commend the hardworking students and teachers at Bedwell Elementary school for being named a prestigious Green Ribbon school,” said Lance. “This important national recognition is testament to all students’ hard work and dedication to the environment. I am honored to represent these dedicated young people and the entire Bedwell school community in Congress.”
