WESTFIELD, N.J. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today announced his congressional offices have successfully closed its 4000th constituent casework request. Constituent cases are opened by Lance’s staff when residents ask the office for assistance and are experiencing difficulties with federal agencies such as the IRS, Social Security Administration, Veterans Affairs, the State Department or any other federal agency. Lance’s staff works as an advocate for the constituent until a successful resolution.

The contest invites high school students from across the Nation to create software applications, or “apps,” for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.

Lance authored the ‘Anti-Spoofing Act’ to combat these crimes.
SOMERVILLE--- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today visited the Somerset County Sheriff’s office and picked up a key endorsement in his effort to outlaw “spoofing” - a practice where con artists disguise their phone numbers to make it appear that they’re calling from a government agency. Somerset County Sheriff Frank Provenzano is backing Lance’s bill after scammers cloned the phone number of the Somerset County Sheriff's Office and impersonated the sheriff's staff in an effort to steal residents’ personal information.
WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) welcomed Helen Zhang of Belle Mead to the United States Capitol this week for the annual Congressional Art Competition showcase. Zhang, 15, was selected as the winner of the Seventh Congressional District contest for her oil painting, Remnant of an American Dream. She earned the chance to visit Washington, D.C. and see her work on display in the Capitol alongside the winning selections from across the country.
