The first order of business for the new session of the House of Representatives was laying the groundwork for significant improvement to our Nation’s health care system.
WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today backed the first ObamaCare repeal and replacement effort that will be sent to the President’s desk. The legislative package, H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act, marks the first time a repeal and replacement plan has passed both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate and sets the stage for a new President to sign a new health care system into law in 2017.
WESTFIELD, N.J. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today announced his congressional offices have successfully closed its 4000th constituent casework request. Constituent cases are opened by Lance’s staff when residents ask the office for assistance and are experiencing difficulties with federal agencies such as the IRS, Social Security Administration, Veterans Affairs, the State Department or any other federal agency. Lance’s staff works as an advocate for the constituent until a successful resolution.
WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) tonight helped secure passage of a major overhaul of the country’s mental care system in the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee. Lance is an original cosponsor of the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act which now advances to the full Committee for further consideration.
TRENTON, N. J. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) proudly accepted the Honorable Bob Franks Public Service Award from the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey on Friday in a special ceremony in Trenton. The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ), a trade association for the research-based biopharmaceutical and medical technology industry, selected Lance for his accomplished record on public health matters and his work on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and its Health Subcommittee.
